from http://obinshah.wordpress.com/2011/11/20/pidgin-icons-part-1/ Scenario : You have installed pidgin and find it a really good client but are a bit disappointed by the icons it provides you. Also, if possible you would like to add some of your own icons. Solution : Do not Fret!! There are three ways to do this. One by adding custom icons through their UI, but it is very tiring one icon at a time. Next, by adding a theme pack which i will show in this post and next by creating your very own theme which i will show you in my next post. So first things First. By default, Pidgin does not show all the emoticons, so I have created a small exe file to show all emoticons as shown above. Just run the exe file as administrator(double click it once…it won’t show any window…it’s a silent install) , it will add all the missing icons to your pidgin installation. After that open your pidgin window, go to tools >> preferences >> select themes and set smiley themes as Pidgin Icons as shown below That will show all the icons in your chat window. Also, to be able to use these icons while chatting with someone, the other person will need to have the icons installed else he will not be able to see the icons. In my next post i will show you how to create your own theme. Stay Sharp!!!
