<h2>The story</h2>
<p>Adit was initially created as a way for my friends and family to bypass draconian security restrictions at work and to securely access website at conventions and hotels.  It originated as a simple batch script, however there were requests to place Adit in the notification area (a.ka. system tray).  As the project kept growing in scope I decided to add a built-in web browser, clean up the source code and open source the project in the hopes that it would be useful to others.</p>
